M.S. CCC-SLP
Hi, I'm Rachel! I'm a speech-language pathologist specializing in literacy, hearing loss, and executive functioning. I use a therapeutic approach driven by research evidence and infused with warmth and responsiveness to help children direct their learning. Always honoring the multiple facets of the individual person, I recognize that the most effective progress occurs where sound clinical methods meet emotional safety.
As an experienced clinician, I am passionate about linking learning and linguistic science with how intervention is conducted. My guiding philosophy is that all people deserve the chance to succeed, and that robust communication skills give way to a richer lifeāone full of meaning and the freedom to make one's own choices.
A Texas native, I graduated summa cum laude from Texas Christian University (B.S., Speech-Language Pathology) and later from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (M.S., Speech and Hearing Sciences). I am licensed to practice in North Carolina, Virginia, and Washington.
I have co-authored published work in the Journal of Children and Media, contributed to research efforts for the CHLLD Lab and the OWL Lab, and presented both in educational and professional settings.
