Hi, I'm Breana! I became a speech-language pathologist because I believe in the power of clear, confident, and effective communication. All people, regardless of ability, have the right to express themselves: to be seen, heard, and known. I consider it a privilege to play a part in that process for my clients.
I have 6 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist working both with children and adults with a variety of diagnoses. My specialties include articulation & phonology, receptive & expressive language, aural rehabilitation, listening & spoken-language development for Deaf users of ASL, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and accent modification. I hold an endorsement in Listening and Spoken Language through Utah State University, am CELTA certified through the University of Cambridge, and am proficient in American Sign Language and Vietnamese (northern dialect).
In my practice, I seek to offer services that are culturally-competent, trauma-informed, and based on scientific research. Additionally, when working with children, I support not only the child but their family members and caregivers through empathetic coaching on how to best support their loved one’s communication development.
If you are interested in working together, please reach out to see if we are a good match. I look forward to talking with you!
When I am not at work, you might find me spending time with my friends and family, reading non-fiction, volunteering to teach English as a second language, weight-lifting, rock climbing, or brushing up on my ASL and Vietnamese skills.
